I love the wings on this Ruby-throated Hummingbird!

# 83 Dusk
It was just about dusk when my husband glanced out the window and got excited. A Bobcat was running across our front yard! I grabbed my camera, but stayed back from the window, so as not to scare it. It paused for a minute or so, allowing me to get several pictures, then ran off. First time in the 13 years we've lived here that we've seen a bobcat on our property--first time we'd ever seen one in the wild!

# 248 Rare
A short while after I took the picture of the fawn, I looked out the window again and got the rare opportunity to see the fawn nursing.
# 156 Innocence
When I first looked out the window, all I saw was a pair of ears sticking up. I thought it was a rabbit. Then it raised its head up and I could see it was a fawn. I grabbed my camera and when I got about 30 feet away, zoomed in and got this picture of the fawn in my front yard.

#199 Multiples
Driving along I-65 in Indiana, north of Indianapolis, we passed these huge wind farms with multiple windmills.

# 65 Damaged
My car was damaged when someone backed into it while it was parked in front of the house where I work. The driver's door only opens as far as the picture shows.

# 86 Edible
A new vegetarian, gluten-free restaurant opened recently near us. I went one day for lunch and had the kale, white bean, and sweet potato soup and the Herb Roasted Crimini Mushroom, Yellow Pepper, Fresh Mozzarella, and Roasted Garlic Aioli panini. They were both very edible!
# 301 Station
Imagine my surprise when I got off a five day shift at work and arrived back in my little town and saw this sign at a local gas station! I'd heard that gas had gone up while I was at work....but I had no idea!!
(Actually, this station regularly runs out of gas--the sign was dark with no numbers lit up a few hours later when my husband passed it on his way home.)
# 113 Flight
I looked out the window this morning and saw this Pileated Woodpecker in the Sumac trees by our driveway. I had to shoot through the blinds (so I wouldn't scare him by raising them) and toward the sky, so the quality isn't that great (plus it was at the edge of my lens range), but I did catch him in flight. The Pileated is our largest woodpecker at 16-19.5 inches (40-49cm)--about the size of a crow.

#130 Gathering
A gathering of gulls at Drakes Creek Park in Hendersonville, TN.

# 194 Monochrome
This picture is almost monochrome--there's the faint tinge of pink as the sun tries to break through the mist and a hint of green in the pine tree.

# 106 Fashion
These Cedar Waxwings make a fashion statement with their black face masks and the bright yellow stripe at the end of their tails.

# 329 Transportation
These little three-wheeled vehicles are actually considered motorcycles. According to the info I found, they have a 26 horsepower engine, can go 65 mph, and get 60-70 mpg. Not bad for zipping around in the city, but I wouldn't want to drive one on the interstate.
# 131 Ghostly
I was trying to get a picture of a nearly full moon the other night--I think there was a mist or fog rising from the backyard pool--I didn't realize it until I downloaded the picture. It gave the picture a ghostly feel, I think.
# 140 Hands
I passed the Brentwood United Methodist Church while doing errands the other day and noticed this sculpture by the side entrance. I parked and took pictures from several angles.

# 259 Ride
We had to ride a four story escalator to start our tour through the River Journey building at the Tennessee Aquarium.
# 232 Playground
When I was a kid, we called these playground objects "see-saws" or "teeter-totters". Not sure what these are called now, but they look harder to fall off of than the ones I grew up playing on--no more of the person on the other end jumping off and leaving you to land with a thud!
# 207 New York
This is probably as close to New York as I'll get this year. I was taking a GPS detour through a section of Nashville that I'd never been through and saw this New York Deli called "Noshville".

# 67 Daybreak
The sun was rising when I went out to get the paper this morning. I took several pictures outside but I noticed after I came back in that the colors just got brighter. I took some from inside the storm door, then thought of going to the top of the stairs and shooting through the windows above the door. I liked how the windows framed the sunrise.
