# 294 Spot

The "Yellow-shafted" form of the Northern Flicker has many spots on its chest.  The Flicker is a ground feeder, eating bugs and ants.  The "Yellow-shafted" form has yellow feathers under its wings and tail.  This one is a male, recognizable by the black mustache.

  4. The frame is just what's needed to draw one's eyes to the shy bird.

  6. What a cool, vibrant little guy. I can't even figure out how his plumage camouflages so well against those plain, drab leaves. Neat!

  7. You have framed this so wonderfully...it adds rather than detracts from your already fine photo.
