Not sure what the problem is or how to fix it. I checked my settings and comments should be open to anyone and no hoops to jump through. If anyone knows a fix, please let me know. Sorry for the difficulty.
That brings up word verification. Goto Blogger Dashboard (This is what I told Iris "I clicked on settings, when that page came up, I clicked on comments. This brought up a page, in which the second option was "Who can Comment" I have registered users including OpenId users, selected. Under Comment moderation I have Always selected, under which is "Show word Verification for Comments" which has NO selected." Hope it works for you
I think I got rid of the word verification step by going to the old Blogger dashboard (that option wasn't on the new format). But, if I change the "who can comment" to registered users, will visitors without openID be able to comment? The reason I had it set to "anyone" was so anyone regardless of ID could comment. I can change it to registered users if necessary, but don't want to exclude anyone. Thanks for your helpful suggestions--please let me know about the "who can comment" if you know whether I need to change that also.
Nan--I have no idea what's going on with Blogger. People have been contacting me with the same issue. I know at one point Ron couldn't comment and then he could--but I didn't change anything before or after. I've checked my settings and everything seems to be OK. It's frustrating and discouraging. I know I don't want to start a new blog. So right now, I'm just directing people who have had problems to my Flickr account.
My BF was having problems viewing any image that HAD comments in his blog. A little research suggested that he change the commenting option from embedded (which is apparently what yours currently is) to Pop-up window and it solved his problem. Obviously, however, I'm commenting on this blog, so maybe the issue is cleared up?
(Settings > Comments - change the setting there if you are so inclined..)
I haven't had problems commenting on your Blogger blog with my Wordpress ID as I've had with some. A couple I can't even get to open to the comments box at all or view the other comments. Another is sporadic and sometimes I can and sometimes I can't. It's weird, is all that I can say!!Simply random frustration!
